Constellations with physical presence
When people are physically present, this offers an option that you do not have with an online constellation. Namely, the option of not laying out papers on the floor, but letting people see for themselves where they are in the space. This applies to the questioner, who participates in a constellation, as well as to the representative or representatives. They are also free to move around, touch each other, look at each other, or move away from each other. This provides a lot of information. It may also be that almost nothing is said, only positions are taken in the space. There are many possibilities in constellations. It does not have to be done in a certain way. Perhaps someone does not want to say anything.
It is also good to define the constellation space. Sometimes a representative wants to leave the constellation, which is what the person being represented indicates, but of course it is not really the intention that they walk out onto the street, even though the person being represented might want to do so. That is why it can be good to define the constellation space in advance and thus set boundaries.
Tip for beginners
When you start trying out constellations, you can choose to start with pieces of paper with the names of the represented positions and arrows on them, and place them on the floor. This gives the constellators the opportunity to ‘get into’ it. After that, this can be let go. Give yourself and others the opportunity to practise and experiment with this.
