Insight through percentage exercises

You can ask yourself questions and receive answers. There are several methods for this, such as using muscle tension to elicit a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response from the body. I’m not very good at that. I work through my own intuition and don’t ask my subconscious all sorts of questions via bodily responses. But it can be helpful in some situations. On this website, I only provide tips for deepening your understanding of your own system and for exploring subtle layers, the latter of which can encompass all sorts of things.

The method I am now sharing with you involves a circular movement on a piece of paper or in the air. You ask yourself a question related to percentages. You let your hand or arm make that movement and see where it stops naturally. If you don’t trust yourself that much, a large movement with your whole arm might feel more comfortable than a small one using just your hand. You can also keep the questions to yourself. First, I’ll explain the movement of the percentage exercise.

The large movement is: you stretch your arm above you and make a large circular movement with your arm to the right, down, to the left, and up. You can also make this movement with your hand, using a pen and paper to draw a circle on the paper. You start at the top, go to the right, down, to the left and back up, so that a circle is formed. That is the basic movement. So you make this basic movement on a large scale with your arm or on a small scale with your hand and a pen on paper. If you make the movement on a large scale, make sure you have a pen and paper to hand to draw your movement.

The full circle represents 100 percent. The very bottom is 50 percent. The point furthest to the right of the circle is 25 percent. The leftmost point is 75 percent. You will ask yourself questions and see how far your hand indicates that something works in percentage terms. This can be done with questions that, taken together, should actually add up to 100 percent. That is by no means always the case, as there may be blockages, attachments, or a disability (in which case you get less than 100 percent). It is also possible that a gift receives support from other energies. In that case, you can easily exceed 100%. You will recognise such a situation in yourself. In general, this percentage exercise can be useful for certain matters that you can check for yourself in this way.

Some questions follow a specific logical order, others are random. If they are random, you can also write the questions on pieces of paper that you fold up, and pick one at a time, so that you do not know which question it is. You hold the piece of paper in the hand that does not move, and ask yourself the question:

“What percentage does the question on the slip of paper I’m currently holding represent?”

Make sure you put the slips back in order and only look at them once you’ve answered all the questions that together make up 100%.

Percentage exercise: The three mental bodies

If you are going to do a constellation involving the three mental bodies, this is a useful preparatory exercise to gain insight. (For an explanation of the three mental bodies, see the section ‘Constellations with subtle bodies’ under ‘Constellations on your own.’)

You have your arm raised right up (or the pen at the top of the paper) and the first question you ask yourself is:

- To what percentage does my thinking consist of input from my current mental body?

You let your arm move and see where it stops. If you are working with a pen on paper, you see where the pen stops. If you are working with a pen, you can mark this immediately. If you are working with your arm, you remember this or draw the part of the circular movement you have made on paper. For the next question, you start where the previous movement stopped:

- To what percentage does my thinking consist of input from my cultural mental body?

Repeat the same procedure with the question:

- To what percentage does my thinking consist of input from my original mental body?

If you wish, you can do the exercise slightly differently, so that you do not know which question you are responding to. In that case, make three pieces of paper, and on each one write the question for one of the mental bodies. Fold the slips of paper and shuffle them. Start by picking a random slip, and hold it in the hand that isn’t writing, or in the arm that isn’t moving. Then ask your system the question:

- To what percentage does the mental body I am currently holding in my hand influence my thinking?

Again, let your arm move and see where it stops. If you are using pen and paper, watch where the pen stops. Do not look to see which body is on the slip; first do the same with the other two slips. Do lay them out in order so that you know which slip you picked first, which second and which third.

Percentage exercise for subtle abilities

You can use the percentage exercise to explore various subtle abilities and see how they work for you, what you’re capable of, and what options you have. I’ll list them: clairvoyance, clear knowing, clairsentience, clairaudience and clarity of touch. Clarity of smell also exists. You can include that too, of course.

Clair-touching is when you check something with your fingers. It doesn’t matter whether you actually touch it or just hover your fingers over it.

Clair-sensing is meant to be internal, using your feelings. Checking things on an emotional level.

Clarity of knowing is when you simply know. You may have no idea where it comes from, but you know it, for certain.

Clairaudience is also clear, I think. My cousin from New Zealand is clairaudient and doesn’t do this exercise by drawing a circle. She immediately knows what percentage something is as a number. She hears it.

Clairvoyance is well-known. You see it before you. Clairvoyance is best known for being able to see into the future. But information about the future can also come through feeling, knowing or hearing. Clairvoyance is not just about receiving images, but also about perceiving something whilst your eyes are open and you see something that others do not perceive. These do not have to be images, and yet you see it. That is also clairvoyance. Clairvoyance is therefore more than just receiving images of the future.

Set each ability to 100 percent. So your own clairvoyance is 100 percent. The questions to ask are:

  1. To what extent is my clairvoyant ability active and am I using it?
  2. To what extent is my clairvoyant ability active but am I not using it?
  3. To what extent is my clairvoyant ability inactive but can I easily activate it?
  4. To what percentage is my clairvoyant ability inactive but can be activated with concentration?
  5. To what percentage does my clairvoyant ability remain inactive, even when I concentrate on it?

You can also check this for the other abilities.

I hope this exercise serves as a starting point for you to make more use of your clair abilities and to be more conscious of them.

This morning I received an addition to this: clear acting. I also saw images related to clear touching that I can add to this. This often happens to me when I wake up. I am clear-awaking (just kidding). But we know it from a proverb: ‘sleep on it’. Clear dreaming is another one.

To start with, an addition to ‘clear-touching’. These are people who run their fingers along a row of Bach Flower remedies and pick out what they need at that moment. In this way, they can also check whether they could benefit from Bach Flower therapy at all. They do the same thing in the fruit and vegetable section. And they can do this for their family, friends and so on. You can practise this yourself if your clair-tactile ability indicates that you are capable of it. At a small gathering, I was once given a box of cards and asked to pick one out. I felt that my hand knew which card it wanted. My hand spent a moment retrieving that card from the many in the box. It was later explained that it was a special card. That’s nice. That’s clear touch.

Clear action speaks for itself: you do things that make sense, that are just right, even if you don’t know why you’re doing them.

Case: Examples of clear acting ability

I’ll give a few examples. When John was terminally ill and in the final stages of his life, I suddenly opened the curtains at a spot where they had always been closed. We have a large window in the living room and the curtains were always closed in some sections. I knew he always wanted them closed and I wasn’t going to suddenly open them now just because he wasn’t aware of it anymore. But I did open them and it felt right; I had a clear, intuitive feeling about it. Later I heard that the yew is called the tree of life and death. Do we have a yew in our little garden? Indeed we do, and it stands exactly in the spot that came into sight when I opened that curtain, just two weeks before his death. Because of that, the yew suddenly had a view of John as he lay dying. I then began to tune into the specific quality that the yew possesses. Every tree or shrub has a specific quality. I sometimes enjoy tuning into it. I did so with the yew. It wraps a small layer of enlightenment energy around a person. Normally, we are insensitive to this; it makes no difference to us. But when someone is dying, it does make a difference in their energetic field. Yews literally illuminate the dying process; they bring about enlightenment.

Another example. In this case, I had my own, human interpretation of why I was doing it. Later, I received information about this from my guides. The situation:

At a certain point, it was clear that John was terminally ill, though not yet to the extent that a life expectancy could be accurately predicted. In hindsight, his life expectancy from that point on turned out to be about six months. I began to surround John with flowers. Even earlier, from the time he was spending a lot of time in bed, I would bring him a small bouquet, but at a certain point I started filling the living room with them. It was as if it were a party every day. There were always four or five bouquets there. John would sometimes say: “Those flowers mean I’m going to die.” I interpreted his remark as follows: because I know he doesn’t have long to live and he knows that too, those flowers are there, because he loves nature and really enjoys looking at them. I do that because he doesn’t have long to live; I wouldn’t do it if he still had ten years to live. That’s a human reason.

Later, I was told by guides that John had meant something different: the presence of flowers means he doesn’t have long to live, because that is the meaning of flowers: flowers play a role in the dying process. Yes, they’re also at parties, but they’re certainly important in the dying process too. And John, who was claircognizant, clairvoyant and clear about everything, knew that. Ah. And how can flowers help with dying? What do they do then? That is very interesting and also the reason they are present at parties: flowers freeze time. They capture experiences. That is very suitable for parties: they freeze your experiences and open you up to a party: look at those beautiful flowers, and off you go. In the process of dying, they thereby already detach a part of you from your life; they freeze that. They start to extract your experiences from your system, as it were, by freezing them, by capturing them. When you die, there is less from which you need to detach. That does make it easier. The joyful experiences of happiness spring forth at that moment and accompany you through the first part of the experience of death. Then you feel happy. That happy feeling when dying has other reasons too, but this is one of them.

I describe these experiences to give you an insight into the subtle world. Because we are unfamiliar with it, we have no idea of what is all accessible in the subtle realm, available to people. It is not certain that you will come to this conclusion, but hopefully this will make you somewhat more aware of the fact that there are subtle matters lying behind the known reality that exert an influence.
